Getting Bored at Your Present Texas Holdem Poker Game

Buddhist proverb: Before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water. After
enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.

Many of the poker players that have gone through my videos have become
total sharks at their current limit/game. They had their “ah hah” moments for
that stake. It wasn’t easy – they hashed out their trouble hands in the
forums
etc. Lot’s of work, but the hard part is behind them.

You wanted so badly to be a super solid winning no limit poker player. Now
after you spent so much energy trying to get a legitimately successful Poker
Tracker win line after a ton of hands – you got it. You pull up your tables
knowing you have it beat. It’s a satisfying feeling, but now you are bored.

So what now? Well, if you have not reached your bankroll move-up point or
your number of hands goal – then your challenge is to continue to improve at
your current stake. Get even better. Go over your hands in Poker Tracker and
see where your leaks are. Add ONE move that you didn’t make before such
as playing more hands on the button, or loosening up in button –2 when the
conditions are right. Remember though to make small adjustments. You don’t
want to get too far off your game.

If you have the bankroll to move up, then it’s on to the next stake of your
current game. If you have beat $10NL full ring, then it’s time to switch over to
6-max. You must keep challenging yourself. If you are smoking $2NL full ring,
how does working your way up to $25NL 6-max sound? If only you could
crush that stake, well, then you will get a little board of it too. A good problem
to have.
